Well this is a bit impressive!

My library bookcases, cabinets and fireplace installation project is OFFICIALLY COMPLETE!

Now a good dusting, some paint touch ups, and starting to move my three pieces in, desk and two armchairs, to get a sense of space.

Researching drapes now, and a proper ceiling light fixture.

We built our home in 2019 and this is the last major in-home project.

So I have begun to move in, my armchairs and desk in place, working out spacing issues (this is not a big room!), slowly moving books in to get a sense of how to organize them.

I am trying not to rush this, but my wife wants our workout room back!

Slow going but I'll update with pics soon.

Thanks ToE! It is starting to really take shape. Mkving books and ephemera in is evolving, as I consider where to place things which will likely change over time. A need to consider alternate locations in the house for many things, mosp paperbacks for example.

The framed poster:

1922 Swedish film poster on archival linen backing.

"Lord Savilles Brott" - Lord Saville's Crime" based on an Oscar Wilde story. Actors name and director prominent.

Framed locally in Stratford, Ontario at Carmen's Camera (thanks so much Cheryl!!!). Museum glass, subtle matte border, frame remeniscent of styles popular in the day.

The desk.

Circa 1935 Bohemia, art deco desk with drawers and cabinet with pull out drawers.

Amazing to think this survived the war and Soviet communism in the Czech Republic!

The handles and key hole surrounds are more recent replacements. The locks are original with replacement keys.

Those wires below and back and small unit are the phone lines and a power booster. Our land line is fibre optic and not powerful enough to ring the phone, with the booster it works a charm!

Going to fix up the mess of wires once a final desk position is confirmed.

The chairs.

French, 1925 frames and springs. Reupholstered recently. Purchased from a Dutch dealer. Keep the door closed, but on Saturday last, Lizzie the Spaniel and Luna the cat discovered them.
