Good morning. My dog soirée was undertaken wearing a 30's Brock fedora.

Cheers, Eric -

That Brock is a special find. Always enjoy seeing it.

A new addition to the collection in the Western Veneto region.
It's well known that I have a penchant for black hats, and this one was a gamble that almost paid off.

Sold as a size 61 hat with no name, the manufacturer's name, Huckel, and the shape of the lettering on the lining reminded me of some of Steve's other hats (mayserwegener).

I liked it, and so I received a Huckel "Flexible" - "Skin" in a lightweight, foldable felt, which is gorgeous.

It's a size 58, and, as is often the case with Central European hats, I can wear it occasionally. This one fits my head well, even if it's a little tight.
It has a date stamped on the paper label: March 24, 1954. Everything else is on the lining.

More interesting black hats will arrive, as I hope from the photos :)
Great hats are appearing every day, thanks to your kindness. Thanks so much!
Glad to see more and more black hats here; they deserve more love. Easy to love a lightweight thin felt Hückel though. Nice catch, Daniele.

Very cool, Don. Wonderful brim treatment.

More good looking black hats. Beautiful, Joe.

Fantastic, Alan. Certainly deserved that gold medal!

I've got black hats for days. Probably one coming up tomorrow. Because of the religious connotation for me, I wear (and post) other colors more frequently in this thread, but perhaps I should expand my palette.
I'd say post away. I know the feeling though, having loads of black hats in the collection myself (but without the religious connotation) but find myself grabbing coloured ones more often.

For that field i’m thinkin you need a broad brimmed bamboo bustin Smokey.
Good Borsalino, great pic, looks like a lot of fine fly rod material in that grove.

This particular species comes out the ground as thick as your wrist or thicker, traditionally used in construction, so perhaps a bit heavy for fly rods.

As for the smoky; I’m put in mind of R. Lee Ermy. That might not go down so well here in Japan…

Great looking old Stetson, Mr. Charlie! Hope you get some relief from that contraption soon! Looks like your furry pal is keeping things under control whilst you're out and about.
