This work week is pretty light for me. Yesterday was off, today I only have a few hours of prep work to do in anticipation of the government reopening. Tomorrow is my regular day off and I don't know if we will even work on Friday (we might just start back up next Monday if the government comes back on line).

Long story short: it's a real treat this week to enjoy the cool mornings under a warm hat.

Modern Stratoliner today.

Nice Jeff! Is that the Stetson Royal version?

I can definitely recommend the Royal De Luxe version if you find one for less than $200 new. It comes open crown and the felt is really very nice. I actually got mine from Walmart of all places for like $150. But the sweatband does not have the swanky airplane print yours has! :(

Enjoy your morning, sir!
It is the Royal version. Found practically unworn, sold by Goodwill via auction.

Have a great rest of your day.

A new addition to the collection in the Western Veneto region.
It's well known that I have a penchant for black hats, and this one was a gamble that almost paid off.
Huckel Flexible 3.jpg

Sold as a size 61 hat with no name, the manufacturer's name, Huckel, and the shape of the lettering on the lining reminded me of some of Steve's other hats (mayserwegener).

I liked it, and so I received a Huckel "Flexible" - "Skin" in a lightweight, foldable felt, which is gorgeous.

It's a size 58, and, as is often the case with Central European hats, I can wear it occasionally. This one fits my head well, even if it's a little tight.
It has a date stamped on the paper label: March 24, 1954. Everything else is on the lining.

More interesting black hats will arrive, as I hope from the photos :)
Great hats are appearing every day, thanks to your kindness. Thanks so much!
