That Adam Hat really looks the executive of it's name, an equisite hat indeed.
It's a good number of years since I visited the US, I do have recollections, I think, of Adam Hat stores, (old age & amnesia are common bedfellows.) Tell me Joe, was there a tie in between Adam Hats and Miller Bros?

Our fickle weather continues, wind, rain, sunshine. Today we are blessed with the latter. Tina and I have some special shopping to do today, hopefully the rain will hold off, all I have to defend myself against nature is an umbrella!

Nice little mystery Stetson Royal today ( no liner or tags) Does have a size tag that I believe puts it from the 60s. 2-1/4 brim with wide grosgrain edge binding. Just about my favorite size dress hat. Nice lightweight medium grey felt with vented sweatband. Soft hand and wears really well. Decent warm weather hat. Ive been thinking of leaving it without liner and adding some decorative vent holes. ( its mine and I can do what I want! lol)

Thank you Robert. Adam hats as a manufacturer employed a DTC marketing strategy via their own chain of Adam Hats stores…. They were generally a popular price brand.. however they made very high quality hats with excellent style. From what I saw… the time line was a bit muDey. But it does appear Miller Bros did in fact purchase the manufacturing and wholesale segments of Adam Hats in the mid 1950s if not the brand itself. Today the former Dallas area Adam Hats factory has been converted into Adam Hats Apartments.

looking sharp today. Good luck dodging the raindrops.

Here we are with a "modern" Borsalino.
Bors Mascotte 1.jpg

A "Mascotte" made specifically for Radiconcini, Rome.
Bors Mascotte A.jpg
The hat was made of superb felt, finished with a short, shiny fur. The felt is soft and very malleable.
Bors Mascotte 3.jpg
Strange to say, it's a true size 6 1/2, which actually corresponds to a 60 cm or 7 1/2 in the USA.
From this, I deduce that it was produced for some "modern" tourist visiting Rome.
Bors Mascotte 4.jpg
Given the Borsalino production, which is often discussed here, this is an example of an excellent hat made in years that many consider mediocre at Borsalino Giuseppe company
Bors Mascotte 5.jpg

This is a new addition to the collection that deserved to be included.
Many compliments to all of you who amaze me every day with excellent hats.

Great all round shape and sharp look, Rick.

I really like the wide ribbon and bow treatment.

Good morning. My dog soirée was under the brim of a Gannon Wanderer.

Home for some coffee I changed to a Stetson Bantam. My hands warmed up in the 48'f (9'c) temps.

Off to the hardware store in a Gannon Wanderer (bone hued felt). I am hoping that this project will only require one trip. We will see.

Cheers, Eric -
Standup triple, Eric, but that 1st Wanderer (blue?) is definitely the leader today.
