Staalmeester Rembrandt
5 inch crown as shaped
1 7/8 brim with overwelt
1 3/4 charcoal grosgrain ribbon

I decided to dig into Stefan @steur magical mystery care package from a few weeks back to join @BobHufford in his StingyPendance celebration. This Staalmeester is a real beauty with a nice tall crown sitting at 5 inches as shaped with a nice deep center dent. It is a nice medium grey felt with a charcoal grey ribbon. It got a nice fresh steam today to smooth out some wrinkles in the pinch and to tweak the brim a bit.

Going with a Capas homburg in the sunny middle east, courtesy of Sherlock Hats in downtown Jerusalem. There are a lot of hat stores in this city, but Sherlock is the only one that caters to the general public, religious and non-religious alike. Everyone can buy at any other store. As long as you like black felt, they'll have you covered. Sherlock's got everyone else. PXL_20250703_084500789.jpg

For the third day of Stingypendence Week I’m wearing a 1960s Churchill Italian Milan from Neiman Marcus. You all CAN play along at home you know — I can’t be the only one with stingy summer hats.

Im afraid Im another deprived individual without any really short brim straws for Stingypendance week.. So Ill throw in my Akubra East Coast. One of my favorite green hats. 1-3/4" brim and gorgeous green liner. Greens a good summer color- right?

A modest request to snap a few pics and let us know what their product looks like.

You could post them here.

Good morning hat folks.

I would like to share a couple hats from yesterday. Home from some travels I strolled about in a Newt panama. Gorgeous panama.

The ribbon treatment is excellent. Neat, quality and tidy.

I started carrying fallen branches to the brush pile and changed to a Stetson "Genuine Panama."

A warm and humid Thursday found a Stetson ******* Airlite with a snowflake vent to be the perfect hat for a dog soirée.

Home and enjoying some cold brew coffee under the brim of a PHD fedora. Gorgeous woven straw. While the ribbon is not a fav, I am giving this hat plenty of head time.

Bird feeders and a couple of nags of mulch later I really appreciated my other PHD straw fedora. Airy enough, light and easy to wear. I am not a fan of the glued ribbon, but my wife likes both of the PHD straw fedoras. I am good to go.

Jack; Thanks. I am traveling for a few days. When I get back home I will do a side by side of the Gannon and Stetson Combers.

Jack; Below are some comparison pics. I needed to visit as I forgot the specs that I provided to Mr.Gannon when I commissioned the Gannon Beachcomer. The crowns are a tad over 6" and the brims are 2.5". The commissioned hat differs a in the brim treatment. I wanted a thin felt (ala the Stetson Beachcomer) and the 3 stitched edge provides some firmness (IMO).
