Last weekend I got to make the trip up to Jacksonville, FL to celebrate the induction of some friends and colleagues into the same wrestling Hall of Fame I had the honor of entering a few years back as part of the Class of 2020… as well as to assist my friend and 2025 honoree in his travel to the event as he has suffered major medical trauma in the last few years and it was important to me that he get to have that experience. I wore my Rogers Peet Company Trivley (made by Mac Lachlan Hats) for the festivities. And the hat then stayed on my head most of this past week. A lot to love about this hat with its Cavanagh edge brim and ample crown.

Awesome hat, completely dwarfed by the importance of the occasion, and your love and care for your friend, Joe. Kudos, sir.

Very fun Joe!!

I did some FB stalking of you and found an old wrestling photo of you. No fedora, but I guess it would be hard to do a flying leap from the top ropes in a full brim!

Did I understand correctly that your grandfather was the original Nature Boy? Talk about wrestling royalty!

Congrats on your continued activity in the community. You all look very happy and the hat fits right in.

Great hat Blare and a crease not often seen.
Very noble what you did for your friend, Joe. Salute
I’ve been wanting to ask you for years what your ring name was, so who were you and what is the name of the HOF??
Wanna check it out.

For the first day of Stingypendence Week I’m wearing a late-1950s Champ Sun Filters Pavia braid.

I was headed out to the Post Office, but had to take the long way around as the creek got out of its banks and the bridge is impassable again.

Wow, congrats to you and your friends! Just last week my family watched “The Iron Claw” movie and got to see how crazy that world can be. It is fun to know that a fellow lounger was and is such a big part of it. Major kudos to you for helping your friend in celebrating the occasion!

Love that crease on the hat!

To avoid the scorching heat of these days in Italy, but also in Europe it is doing damage, I get up early in the morning.
Panama Colombia 1.jpg

I go for a walk as long as the sun allows it. I meet runners, couples and old ladies and gentlemen who savor the relative freshness of the morning.
Panama Colombia 2.jpg
This morning I was accompanied by a generic panama, made in Ecuador with a fantastic weave, but very low quality finishing. The ribbon needed to be redone and some adjustments to the shape would have been useful.
So it was not for this that it was a size smaller than mine and for another that remained as it had arrived.

Have a good day to all of you and congratulations on your daily hats

Thanks guys.. it was a great time.. I’m so happy the fine folks that run this event do so to recognize guys and gals who may or may not have had much exposure on the national scene but sure as heck did regionally in the south east, through FlorIda and the Caribbean.

I wrestled and later “managed” as Blare Rogers. Originally in a tag team The Rogers Brothers…. Bobby and Blare… Grandsons of Nature Boy Buddy Rogers and the later on my own mostly in Florida and the Caribbean (Bahamas, Haiti, Turks and Caicos, ect). Buddy, the original Nature Boy (long before Ric Flair) was an absolute true wrestling legend in the 40s, 50s and 60s… former NWA world champion.. Today is actually the anniversary of him winning that title at Comisky Park in Chicago in front of nearly 40,000 fans. He was the guy that what is now known as WWE was created around. He was their very first champion. I do not have actual relation to Buddy, however he was a mentor for me, part my original training and bringing me in to work as his grandson. He passed back in 1992

Today I maintain the Buddy Rogers tribute website and Facebook page to keep his legacy alive. buddyrogers.net

I havnt gotten the chance to watch that movie yet. And have heard some complaints from those that were there and lived it over how much ”creative license“ they took with the story (for example entirely leaving out one of the Von Erich brothers. However for me…. When I first saw clips from the trailer showing the Texas Sportatorium I was immediately snapped back as a 13 year old kid watching World Class Wrestling on TV a Saturday night in the 1980s. So I think they did some things right for sure.
