HOT, HOT, HOT ! Did I mention it's HOT down here @ Rock Bottom today ? I got out way early this morning on my tractor and got the grass cut. Now I'm hanging out in my Stevens Genuine Macora with a pug style hatband that really adds to the appeal. Stay cool y'all !

Looks like we finally have about a week and a half of mostly dry weather coming up. Big Saharan dust cloud blowing over this weekend... Guess Ill be picking out a couple tan/brown hats out to match.

Today the lid of choice is a 3x Stetson Montez project hat. ( genuine 3x stetson wool lol) Nothing special about the hat... just an inexpensive wonkey brim ebay hat that I picked up so I could learn how to do brim curls. Flattened the brim, got the wrinkles smoothed, and beat some of the wonkey bits out. Did a 1/2" curl and and worked in just a bit of down swoop in front and back. One of my favorite cheap hats

as arrived...

Nice sunny morning that was begging for a bit of color. Always loved the orangish/ brown hue of this Sterson 3x. Had done a bit of brim reduction and reblocked to remove the cattlemans crease. Have been thinking to dong something a bit different with the ribbon and bow... maybe a bit smaller?

One of my "other" orange hats was feeling neglected, so it comes out for the afternoon too. The orange and green combination always makes me smile. Just a simple little Royal Stetson thats come a long way. Always amazed me that I actually got the paint off of it lol

then...

Very nice, Rick. Not certain about going thinner. That ribbon, especially with that feather, is pretty darn impressive!

Details, please! I can't read the liner tip, the headband, or the pin!!
I’ve posted this one several times over the years, so I didn’t add anything, plus, I was trying the “portrait” phone cam feature, which didn’t work out very good, as you noted. Won’t do that again.
It’s a 40s/early 50s Collins & Fairbanks brand.
The pin is a small Indian penny copy, maybe.

SInce its a taller western crown, Ive been afraid a smaller ribbon might make the crown look goofy and tall... Ill prob just leave it as-is and play with the feather. Ive got a ziploc full of guinea feathers a friend gave me.. A nice spotted feather riding up about halfway up the crown would look cool

Good morning. Friday early evening I took a dog soirée under the brim of a minty Stetson.

As the evening continued I changed to a Stetson Vogue. My neighbors met me on their dock for a "Pour at 4" and complimented my hat. The forest green felt with maroon trimmings does stand out.

A Saturday dog soirée was enjoyed under the brim of a Gannon Beachcomer. This hat is a replica of the Stetson fedora of said name and characteristics.

Home I poured a cold brew and sauntered about under the brim of a Borsolino Misto.

The morning sun is warming the temps. A VS semi-colado panama was a perfect choice. While this hat is not a "fine woven" straw, the perfect fit and airy weave make it a fav.

I started some hoeing in the garden and grilling some buffalo sausages. A Stetson panama was a prefect hat choice for my efforts.
