How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Will do. I believe these run big- just how big is the question.

But if I’m wrong and it’s small I will let you know.

Didn't Tony wear one in a 42 ? I think i remember him having two of them at somer point, maybe one old gen and one new gen, or one 42 and one 44, i don't remember...

He did but it was the TB Gambler. Not surprisingly he also had a Raid with a more generous cut.

I’ve read Raids fit a size up to multiple sizes up. And if the seller I bought it from is who I think, he normally measures a bit off but who knows. His jackets are normally impeccable. Figure for the money it was worth the risk for a gray Vanson. I really like gray hides.

This is the second time I’ve seen one of these curious 80s(?) British made CHP style jackets*—complete with the extra Lewis type collar snap. Couldn’t resist, we’ll see how much of a vintage size 36 it is…!

I have another Vanson Model A en route and a Model B as well, both in black, size 46. They’ll arrive within a week.

I’ve got a lot of wear time in a white label (40-50 year old) Model A tri-color (chocolate / seal / black) but have never had a straight black A and I’ve never had a Model B of any color.

This turned up today too. Pioneerwear saddle coat. It’s a really thick naked tan cowhide. Reminds me of undyed Natal leather. Cinnamon roll leather buttons! I’ll probably shorten up the fringe bits and add some beads. Now all I need is a bogus ponytail, a fake knowledge of martial arts and hijacked submarine.

Nothing actually new, but my Taylor's CMPD is finally on it's way back to me from having the patchwork done by Steve at Bedo's.
It basically summer here now and I won't get to wear it any time soon, but it has been very weird constantly looking into my closet and seeing it's special hanger empty.
I really can't wait to have it back.

Interesting jacket. Has many of the CHP details (including fur-lined cuffs) but a much more British cut—longer and slimmer. I’ll probably replace the **** zip (which is in itself a poorly done replacement—the cuffs and pockets are all Riri) but that may come at the cost of being able to do it up! The side laces are much more cosmetic here than on a Cal—even undoing them all the way only buys limited space!

For better or for worse this one's coming my way.
Knowing my track record of jackets fitting me this will likely end up in the classifieds, but who knows - maybe the gods will be merciful this time and my grail jacket will actually fit me.
Here it is boys!
As with 90-95% of leather jackets of my size I'd like less room in bottom hem and especially the waist, but it's not too bad, especially for this button up type 1 style.
Couldn't ask for a better fit in terms of length, sleeve length and width, upper body width, shoulders. Very comfortable.
The leather is 10/10 fantastic. FQ horsehide tanned and dyed with persimmons. Close to natural veg tan but not quite - even more sensitive to UV and sunlight I understand. Pliable, plenty thick, full of scars and markings, beautiful sheen, slight squeak, extremely pleasant hand/feel - not dry, rather wet like CXL. Very lightweight jacket overall.
The large back panel is definitely the star of the show.
For me this a perfect example of a "leather-first" jacket where the design is very minimalistic and let's the material really shine. Definitely on the exotic / exclusive / fancy side of the spectrum.
Last photo illustrates how it would look like if I'd tailor it and reduce the waist and bottom hem width.
I know that's pure blasphemy here on TFL and It's not likely that I'd actually do it!
Thoughts?

After lurking, studying, and shopping for a couple of months, I've finally made my first two jacket purchases. The first is an Aero Sheene I've picked up from Fonzie...Thanks Fonzie! I'm waiting for it to find its way from Australia to Long Island, NY, but it looks like I'll be seeing it this week. It's a repost of Fonzie's pic, but this is my first real leather jacket purchase, and I'm too excited not to share :)

My second summer present to me was a Vanson Oxford in Bainbridge Cedar from Thurston Brothers. It just recently arrived (it was closer at hand), but I don't have any fit pics yet. They will be soon to follow.

More pics to follow later in the week...hopefully...

Great choices to start with! very classic models that'll go with almost everything from two amazing makers, can't go wrong with that really! Post some on body pictures when they land if you can :)

Cheers!

My Aero Sheene finally arrived, so I can post my follow up pics, etc., for my two new jackets.

First the Sheene: sadly the jacket didn't fit me, which is part of the learning curve, so I figure I got a head start having it happen with my first buy :). It was the size I would have ordered even if I'd bought it new, because my understanding was that with the Aero Highwayman I should go down two sizes—from my regular 40, to a 36—but since the Sheene has a slim fit due to its being based on a cafe racer, I should aim at a 38, which is indeed the size of this FANTASTIC Aero Sheene that Fonzie sold me. I love this coat.

I'm 5'8", 172 lbs, have a 40" chest, and a 31" waist, and this is how the jacket fits me:
Aero Sheene 38, Kim.jpg

I can get it on easily enough, and with enough confidence...thanks to the strength of CXL Horsehide...I can even zip it all the way up. But it is not a comfortable or easy breathing adventure.

Interestingly, my son is roughly the same size as me: 5'8", 166 lbs, w/ 40" chest and 31" waist, so I had him try it on, and the jacket fits him nicely:
Aero Sheene 38, Other fit.jpg

I'm confident I can shed the six pounds that separate us, but I don't believe that's the entire story. Me and my boy have different builds: I have narrow, sloped shoulders, and a low slung chest (it's always been my natural build...not an age-thing), and I am deeper than I am broad. My son is high chested and broad shouldered, and is more imposing than me. Then there is the age factor: even with a 9" drop, I'm not V-shaped anymore, whereas my boy is. It goes to show that the variables for fit extend beyond dimensions and weight. I should be at his weight by Fall, so hopefully the jacket will fit me better by then—even though my son hopes that it doesn't, because he senses he might have just come into a very cool new jacket, lol!
