Now that president Ray Ban is out of office I started wearing my black shooters again. The blacks work fine as sunglasses but I hate wearing them where someone Im talking to cant see my eyes. ( they be DARK) You pics have enticed me to finally replace a pair of Ambermatic Ourdoorsman that were pilfered from my desk at work years back. Should be here monday so Im sure theyll make it in some pics soon.

Back from the vets office and had a new box sitting by the door! My New to me Borsalino Alessandria! 2-1/4" bound brim, and a 4-3/4 crown. Beautiful green grey color. Really clean condition and fits perfectly. Zero holes, scuffs or stains. Super nice light soft felt. REALLY comfortable fit. Just needs a little bit of steaming. Finally have a felt Borsalino!

Thanks! I have a small collection of vintage B&L Ray bans. I probably wear the Ambermatic‘s more than any other pair.

WAY back in the day I worked at Warshalls Sporting Goods in Seattle. Since they were a Ray Ban dealer, I had my boss send a pair of green shooters into Ray Ban ( when they were usa made) for a frame replacement ( guess you werent supposed to put them in your back pocket and hop on a mountain bike) They made it back to Ray Ban, but they lost them! They told my boss to just let me pick out any pair they had in stock. I picked a pair of Ambermatic Outdoorsmen. LOVED those glasses! About two years later, just about when I had them broken in, I left them in the breakroom with my wallet and keys, stepped about 30 feet to the coke machine for a drink, and some low life liberal Seattle scum decided they needed my ambermatics more than I did. Left my wallet and keys, but stole my glasses!

This Borsalino was my choice to come along for my wife’s birthday beach break. There are no tags inside this one… but it appears to be in the OR/Strat styling they called Ta Ludora or what would eventually become the Alessandria model

Every now and then a particular hat arrives as a temptation.

I have seen very few straw Barbisios in my life and I believe this is a product of the late production of the Sagliano Micca house.

The horrible writing on the bow is evidence of this and the "shaping" of the hat that has almost vanished in the time in which it remained unsold.

It comes from a very small warehouse remainder. In this photo you can find all the characteristics of the straw with which it was made.

The measurements are, brims at 7cm. the "dark brown" ribbon is 4 centimeters and the height of the crown is 10.5 cm. For now it is the only purchase of 2025...

I forgot: I would like to find a hat like this every day or almost :)
Have a nice day to all of you and my greetings from the valley north of Verona
Very nice, Daniele. I wish I could get that kind of temptation every day!!!
