Happy Memorial Day to US members.

I have spent parts of the last few days watching WWII docos, but will spend this evening with family remembering our nation's fallen.

I'm still undecided what hat to wear tonight, but so far today it's been the Melton. This is my only hat with a thin brim biding on top and wide underneath.

FINALLY got some sunny sky today. We had nonstop rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, tree branches knocking the power out multiple times, and lightning / thunder boomers every 20 seconds or so from about 9am yesterday till sometime after 4:30 am today. I Spent close to 20 hrs with my brave (?) 100 lb Chocolate Labrador wedged in close and shivering/ whining at the thunder.

Add to it I managed to pick up some kind of summer cold. Chills, joint pain sore neck and shoulders. Pretty much an un-enjoyable evening. After a dr appt and some coffee this morning I went and restocked on the Corisidin HBP and Voltarin Arthritis creme. Going to medicate up and slather the lldocane on the joints and take a good long nap ( then maybe wake up to a big ****** Mary later.... for the vegetable juice of course lol)

Headed out in the sun with a light colored hat. This one A Stetson 4x James Dean Foundation hat. 4-1/2" crown, 2-3/4" bound brim. nice light dress weight felt. Light color hats in bright sun just look good to me

Back in 2011 I had an odd run of luck, coming across 3 old Stetson western hats within a few days... all with the same Real Nutria Fur mark, 7" crown 4" brim and wonderfully soft and furry black felt. The lot number on each was also close, suggesting a manufacture date on each circa 1925. I haven't seen another since. I sold the 7 1/8 as it was a little large and kept the other two.

Pulling one out as the hat of the day today I went back to look up the year I purchased it and found some photos I had forgotten. The sheepskin sweatband is very soft and supple so it was easy to explore behind the sweatband. I had no reason to remember the personal ownership scrawl at the time but since, Woodstock Vermont - a lovely town of 3000 folks - has become the home of my older daughter, her husband and my two grandkids. That's a lot of hat synergy coming together.

And with those two posts, we get more than a glimpse of what we’ve been missing. Welcome back.

I’ve been struggling to keep up with everything on the Lounge, let alone post my own hats. Here, however, is a Sunbody I pulled out of its box on the weekend. I added the pug myself.
