Looks great with the boots, couple of really nice hats in these posts Gary.
Fantastic series of hats and food picks, Gary!
That Debrosan is HOT!!!!!!!!
Thanks guys. It was nice to sneak in some favourites before they go into boxes for the summer.WINNER!!!!!!!!!
Today saw the debut of my Wolfbrae Panama. Plantation style with a ribbon made from silk kimono fabric that we provided. I’d seen Robert recommend getting the shape of your head using a flexicurve. I decided to do so, and what I discovered was that I am not, in fact, a size 59, but a 58 long oval. I think I lost just over half a cm by shaving my head. The new hat is a great fit.

I don’t know why my original reply didn’t actually post, so hopefully this edit makes it through.View attachment 701721
The Borsalino Ludosca just edges it, Stefan, but how difficult it is to choose.

For church this morning, a Stetson Sovereign. Worn special today for Tina, she is my Sovereign and today we celebrated our anniversary. After the service we enjoyed a traditional Sunday lunch at a quintissentially thatched country inn, joined by our friends.
The Shadow knows...
Beautiful hat, Steve. Lookin' good........Wow, what a parade of terrific hats of late!
The breeze was icy enough to remind me that it is not yet Summer, but still only Spring, on my stroll to the lake. A beautiful day nonetheless. The Campdraft Deluxe in Sand (Silverbelly when I purchased it in 2020) kept the sun's rays off of me.

Good lookin' hat, indeed!Took an evening walk to break in birthday present to myself, a Capas Mario Panama. As much as I enjoy the Fedora Panama from David Morgan this one feels pretty darn special. Likely going to breakdown and get one in navy too for going to Jazz bars! View attachment 701752 View attachment 701753 View attachment 701754 View attachment 701755
You’ve got that one looking pretty sharp. Great looking color. I’ve got a few of these “coffin box” hats. A couple that don’t get worn too often stay in their boxes. A couple others that like yours don’t ever go back in. But I’ve got one that I use as a travel hat and roll it up and throw it in a zip lock…. As I don’t wish to destroy the old box getting stuffed in my travel bag. It always pops up reasonably serviceable. Here is a lightweight (64 grams - 2.25 ounces) Borsalino Pocket Hat. It seems many of the hats made for the tourist market in the 1950s never made it out of the coffin shaped boxes in which they were interred for the journey homeward. Every one I've found over the years had never been worn but each was a challenge to unroll and freshen up after half a century or more of imprisonment. This one seems a natural for rolling with its grosgrain sweatband, but I won't be doing it again any time soon.

Thanks Mark! We keep trying.Beautiful hat, Steve. Lookin' good........
Love this one, Alan. A marvel of hatmaking really considering the cone started out three times as big as the hat and being that light and thin. Here is a lightweight (64 grams - 2.25 ounces) Borsalino Pocket Hat. Thank you, Don.What a great lineup. It's the Knox 25 for me.
You're not mistaken; well spotted. Thanks, Steve. All winners as usual, Stefan.
With its wide brim and, if I'm not mistaken, Fleur at Penumbra ribbon and bow treatment, the Knox 25 is, though, quite the standout this week.

Thank you, Mark. Much appreciated.A smaller selection, but awesome nonetheless, Stefan. I'm going with the Knox 25 as #1, the Penumbra as #2, and the Borsa Ludosca as #3. Thanks for sharing!
GHT, you made a good choice with the Sovereign. It looks great - Happy anniversary!

It's a public holiday in the UK today. We are off to Christchurch Quay in Dorset, where there is a big vintage car display known as Classics on the Quay. I deliberated on a straw hat, but last time I wore straw on the seafront the wind took it. Chances are it's been washed up on a French shore somewhere.
Today my bespoke Gamble & Gunn will, hopefully, sit tight, otherwise some Frenchman might find another out of my hat collection.
