Hi all. Does anyone know of a good leather jacket repair shop in the Boston area? I have a Buco J-100 jacket with a busted zipper and am looking for a reliable shop to have it replaced.

Main zipper? If it is, you can do it yourself. Not very difficult. Just follow the old holes. If you're interested, there is a video link I posted for the "leap frog" technique I use and is very easy to learn. Regarding the zipper, if you want a quality Military NOS Talon,Conma,Scoville, C&C, Let me know I have them. If you can locate a nice 70s NOS YKK nickle get it. They are excellent.

Lastly, there is a gent who lives in the Midwest who is a motorcycle jacket repair expert. I can send you his info. I posted his info in this site. Just search under my name and motorcycle leather repair.

Good luck.

Hi photo2u. Really appreciate you taking the time to write up these recommendations!

The zipper damage on my jacket is a complete tear of the left size zipper chain, so the entire thing will need to be replaced. Thank you for the video, but I'm not very handy and not very confident that I would be able to do a good job fixing it myself, especially on such an expensive jacket.

I'd rather send it to a professional. Who's the Midwest leather expert you mentioned? I'm sorry, I tried to search your name and motorcycle leather repair and couldn't find it.
