What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

I've been playing catch-up today with the last week or so of hats etc. posted here on the FL.

As ever, what an array of wonderful head wear, interesting information, ephemera, and enviable finds. I'm in awe!

I chose a modern Borsalino for my Saturday jaunt. I thought it went well with my new found leather jacket.

A bit of catching up to do. First up, my Stetson Custom V for a welcome dinner for this year’s new teachers on Thursday night (our school year starts in April).

Friday saw temperatures drop, so I took the opportunity to wear my Schott and western boots one last time. The Borsalino Debrosan is, along with the Custom V above a favourite among my vintage hats.

Etsuko wore a Maxim.

Saturday, my Akubra Cattleman barbecue hat for to co up a rack of lamb (New Zealand, of course).

This Stetson 3X is one of my favorites for Sunday-go-to-meeting. Its modest 1 3/4" brim doesn't block anyone's view from behind while we're standing up during music (though my 6'3" body does), and it fits easily in my lap while sitting during the message.

Today saw the debut of my Wolfbrae Panama. Plantation style with a ribbon made from silk kimono fabric that we provided. I’d seen Robert recommend getting the shape of your head using a flexicurve. I decided to do so, and what I discovered was that I am not, in fact, a size 59, but a 58 long oval. I think I lost just over half a cm by shaving my head. The new hat is a great fit.

Thanks. My first time doing a rack of lamb. Hopefully it won’t be my last. It was damn good, if I say so myself. Went well with a New Zealand Pinot Noir, too.

I love the older modest brim 3x's . Just such a comfortable wear with a soft hand to the felt and a brim that doesnt get in the way

Heres a happy, sunny, Sunday to all! Seems like a good day for probably my favorite rescue mutt of all times. A modest little Stetson Royal. The reddish brown and green combination always makes me smile

Well....today i was planning on pulling out one of my most special, Stetson did it friggin alright, wear only for something special hat, just to brighten up my day.
I was brushing it and noticed a thingy place, then a kinda unrecognized area and immediately went into “Panic Thought Mode”. Oh, who been messin with my hats?? Dog, hit the road!!! You know just regular hat panic.
Alas, i turn it over and what?? Oh yeah, it’s the little brother!!
Hippo digs the Hollywood thing!
I also answered my own question.
Yes, Stetson did make an Open Road 3X Last Drop. Duhh

Well done. I love to see somebody give new life to a nice, but neglected, old hat like that. And you're right - those colors are very good together. I'm sure it gets a lot of attention when you wear it.
