Anyone wear US NAVY “GOB” wool sweater? If so let’s see em! Not an item talked about often! I’ve seen that Eastman makes a nice one! The Bronson one looks okay , some of the knit work seems a little bit off compared to originals, but I haven’t handled many so I don’t have much knowledge in that .

I just received a Bronson one. I am not much of a historian, but I can say that the Bronson is a very nice feeling sweater. Heavy and a great fit, feels like good material. I will see how it holds up. Though I bought it used and it’s in good condition thus far.

Not much talk about the Navy GOB sweaters. I wasn't even sure what they are. Found a photo of one online. Looks to to be a clean and functional piece of kit.

I ordered a large like I wear in the 5 button USGI wool sweater and it was TIGHT! I returned and sized up to an XL waiting for it to come in, will report back with measurements. The color is similar to a USN wool watch cap , tag was too worn and unreadable to see an NSN number, but was definitely an issued item as someone’s name was written on the tag. For under 40$ for a real wool sweater , it’s worth a shot.

I feel like I may be a bad influence for you now , the Seiko watch, now the wool sweater… haha
Yep, you are definitely a bad influence. Got the watch a few days ago and the OD band yesterday. Today I got the band put on the watch and am wearing it as I type. Makes me feel SOG–like.

I'll post pictures of it and some of my SOG memorabilia in the next day or so, if I can find any of it. I know can find a knife or two and perhaps my tiger stripe hat.

I have two now, i was so impressed with the first that i thought i'd better get a backup one just in case it got ruined at work or just through wear and tear, breathable and insulating, perfect to wear in cold weather from about 5-10C if you're moving about, but take an age to dry so if it rains i take it off and keep it dry in a bag or the vehicle, then put in over my wet t shirt (after wringing it out) then my body heat does the drying
I'm thinking of getting a third - they're that good, i treat it like a tool-jumper, perfect for work in cold weather, here are a few pictures:
