One way to make less taper is to do a diamond crease, but make the diamond a symmetrical one and less marquis like, if that makes sense. With a 7” crown, you’d have to deeply push in the crease, but with that much crown, doing the squared up diamond it’d likely help cure side taper more than usual.Gannon Beaver.
I had hoped to fine tune the bash before showing this guy off, but I've been in an Airbnb all week without a water kettle so this is what I've been wearing.
This is such a hard crown to tame - it is huge (>7 inches) and has a massive taper side to side. If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them.
I love this hat, though. Once I get the crown right, it will be unstoppable.

As an aside, the way you have it now actually creates an even more side to side tapered look.
From what I can tell and hear, Gannon makes a good hat, though.
