This guy was posted here at some point. It took me a few more looks to realize how fine a looking jacket it is. I've seen several jackets by this company, always very solid looking. This is the first I have owned. Size 44 vintage horsehide half-belt and looks excellent.

I had not seen that style by American Sportswear. I can understand your interest; it appears to be well made with fine leathers. I don't recall seeing a CHP by them. There is a crosszip out there now, a rather interesting jacket that has some leather issues. I know I have a variety of pics in my files. I know nothing of their history. I graduated from Utah State University, so that makes the company more interesting. I will do some research on them or at least put it on my list.

I have considered American Sportswear and Seattle Woolen when I read a Made in the West labels. I know Seattle made jackets with no labels. Another road less traveled.

I'd say pass as it indeed isn't your style. Once a year, I get the urge to try these out and if I do end up giving it a chance, I deeply regret it each time.

Haha. You are right. I’ve been watching it for about a year. Deep down, I know I won’t wear it. For moments I think I will, but then I can’t bring myself to hit BIN on the seller’s offers.

Looks like a vaguely USN Type, with slash pockets instead of patches.... It's a look I quite like as a civilianised version of the military jackets. The main problem I've found in gauging them is that it's very hard to get a feel for the sizing on these without prior familiarity with a specific brand in my experience. It's not a style that to my eye works if worn too big/baggy/long.

I try to stay away from stuff I don't think I'd wear more than once or twice a year, but otoh some of my favourite things to wear started off as "not sure, but it's a good deal...." or "cheap enough to risk it"!

Just bought this on etsy. Not seen this particular style in the Hercules line up. Civilian A2 with a mouton collar and cig pocket. Nice and very cheap.

I just received this ribbon tag Schott Perfecto, probably early 60s. It's somewhat odd though as it doesn't have back gussets, zippers are 'naked' and the size tag says 46 while it has a ptp of 23".

Does anyone recognize the model?

Just received this 1958 (?) LW Foster G-1.
Very excited for this one. The seller listed it as an "80s type bomber jacket" but after researching on the Lounge, I discovered that it's from the 1950s contract. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think around 1958, and the same contract as JFK's jacket. It's also in pretty exceptional shape, with only a little wear on the knits in a couple places. Plus, I think I got it for about half or even a third of what it's going for on eBay, since they didn't really know the extent of what they had. Fits pretty great too, I believe. Oh, and it even had a pair of Nomex gloves in the pocket!

So I found a size M canvas Lost Worlds on Mercari for around 40€ and bought it. It will take a while before I get it but at the price I'm gambling about the fit.

I lost a Ryder size 38 for less than 180€ but I didn't have any money at the time...

My search for budget price Lost Worlds continues. I'm gambling a bit on sizing but I can't commit to +$1500 without having a size try on for reference.
