There are “civilian” A1’s from Schott and Valstar that has handwarmer pockets behind the patch pocket and inside chest pocket.
When they designed the jacket, they had open cockpit bi-plane only. What they had in mind was things getting in your way when you fly and when you try to put on a parachute mid flightIt's a hugely impractical jacket. The only thing those pockets are good for is for carrying a face mask yet I highly doubt they had those in mind when designing this jacket.
It's an ideal jacket for chilly summer nights when going out for a drink. I think I've worn it about 5 times (which is relatively speaking actually quite a lot considering I own about 50 jackets lol)
John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. I really dislike that. Either handwarmer or patch pockets but both are not for me.There are “civilian” A1’s from Schott and Valstar that has handwarmer pockets behind the patch pocket and inside chest pocket.
I was afraid of that. I really find the concept of chilly summer nights quite funny because I can't relate. We don't have that in Barcelona. Even a linen jacket or a thin cotton one is too much. Also I go walking almost everywhere, rarely ride my Vespa during the week because of the traffic and maniac drivers. It's a hugely impractical jacket. I rarely remove my jackets to be honest. Twice a day maybe. At work when changing into my uniform suit (My belongings then go with me) and when I get home. Only when going out if inside but then I get my things into my pockets and depending on where I'm at I'm 100% not removing my leather jacket.I’m kind of the other way in that if I’m wearing a jacket it will be taken off and put on multiple times in a day whereas my trousers tend to stay with me the whole time, so I leave my valuables in those pockets. I am a minimalist though and don’t wear tight trousers, so it’s not visually disturbing.
On the small phone front, I’m happy with my 2016 SE, and am relieved that Apple brought out the 12 mini, which is virtually the same size. I hate big phones too, and have no problem reading novels et cetera on it.I really dislike that. Either handwarmer or patch pockets but both are not for me.

I wear wide leg and high waist trousers but still don't like to carry much in my pockets.
Damn 21st century with smartphones and stuff! I just carry a card wallet (with my DNI, credit/debit and healthcare cards so 3-4) a small phone(I wish they were smaller actually)and keys. My moustache wax tin goes into the coin pocket of trousers.
All I got was this teaser from John @ Good Wear Leather. Dubow A-2 in the mail...

I just tried, those Eastman A-1 pockets are too small to fit an iPhone 12 mini.On the small phone front, I’m happy with my 2016 SE, and am relieved that Apple brought out the 12 mini, which is virtually the same size. I hate big phones too, and have no problem reading novels et cetera on it.

Same here. It always looks clunky and really takes away from the clean look of the originals.I really dislike that. Either handwarmer or patch pockets but both are not for me.
Thanks! I have the 13 mini and it wouldn't work. Bad news since it doesn't have an inside pocket (Would be easy to make one though but the liner could sag) I would still have the 5s if the battery hadn't died and it hadn't stopped receiving updates.I just tried, those Eastman A-1 pockets are too small to fit an iPhone 12 mini.

Working on it and probably getting close to completion. But that's what they we all say, right?Mouth-watering! You got yourself quite the collection going!
I also saw it. Very nice. I think it is only available in Japan limited to 100 pieces for sale at Schott Japan and Zozotown only. Likely a collaboration of Schott and Fullcount Japan (the current owner or licensee of the Brown's Beach trademark).Looking forward to this! Schott x Browns Beach. Who knew?

Ah very interesting!!! I’ve had a couple of browns beach shawl collar jackets. The BB label seems to get passed around a bit. Both mine were Shawl collar “coats”. I like this shorter variant that’s incoming. Haven’t seen it other than the RMC version. Here’s the two I had, can’t remember exactly who made them. They were Japanese manufacture. I do remember that.I also saw it. Very nice. I think it is only available in Japan limited to 100 pieces for sale at Schott Japan and Zozotown only. AFAIK, there are two Japanese companies which are currently using the BB trademark. Fullcount and Losthills.Ah very interesting!!! I’ve had a couple of browns beach shawl collar jackets. I’ve always liked this material and now it perfectly matches my beard, with less brown in it as well.

I have the smallest duffle from Sailsmith, some of the heaviest canvas I’ve seen (in all black). How about a menspursefannypackbag for all the stuff that doesn’t fit into jacket or pants pockets?
They make beautiful bags don’t they! Thank you, i’d never heard of Sailsmith before and now I have something new to covet.I have the smallest duffle from Sailsmith, some of the heaviest canvas I’ve seen (in all black).
In no way competition to a fancy leather office bag, but perfect for my needs.
I also just got a Billingham Hadley Digital bag for camera (obviously) but also if I don’t need quite as much room as the Sailsmith. I tried leather (Frank Clegg) but found the weight too much.
