I finally joined the ******* club. When I was younger I imagined it to be a very different club. At my age I'm nearly as excited....

Glorious light brown Bon Vivant! The stitched brim appears to be excellent condition. As you get more opportunities to wear it I am curious to read your impressions. Do share.

I have been finding the last couple of years my *******s get reached for often. Great hats, IMO.

Cheers and congrats.

Short trip today but the ******* is a fantastic partner. Looks fantastic in casual attire and equally good dressed up. The brown

hue really swings with the light source becoming more light earthy in the sunlight. The exquisitely sized ribbon takes on a caramel hue in bright sun.

Wow! That is just plain a sharp hat in a very scarce felt color. The unlined *******s are truly my fav's of this model. Congrats sir!

Thanks Eric! I just knew there was just something about that lump of hat sitting on the table in that auction lot (they did not list what it was). I was thrilled when it arrived and it was my size.

The three hats are very similar in their parts, styling and felt feel. All were likely made sometime between 1936 and 1940. Here a few photos with notes on the variations:

Alan congrats on the *********. They are indeed the finest examples of the early *******s I have seen. Just fantastic.

As you have documented the differences are indeed significant between the Bon Vivants. You pics capture the felt textures.

Just grand to see you new vented early *******. Thanks for sharing.

Best, Eric -
