Champ featherweight waiting for me today when I arrived home.
I am 7 1/8, but many Champ hats seem to run large in 7, and fit me.
Not quite so with this one, which is a wee bit too snug.
Looking at the buckled sweat, it seems this felt has been shrinking. I think I can make it fit without stripping and reblocking it.
And look at the ribbon!

5 1/2” open crown. 2 3/4” underwelt brim. The crown has a bit more taper than optimal, but I still like it. It’s a bit snug, as expected, but it’s close to fitting now so a few days with a band block should do the trick.

I’ve sworn off looking under sweatbands so any tags or labels hidden there will remain a mystery.

Are you going to personalize it? Put your name in it, or something?

The English designations were not limited to "Imperial". I've seen (and owned) "Royal", "Royal De Luxe", "Premier", "Sovereign" and "4xBeaver" made under license.
German made Stetsons I've seen less, but, besides the "Excellent", I've had a "7xbeaver", "premier" and "royal".
So both markets used several of the designations for their Stetson hats.

Interesting, Stefan. Several labels, but not necessarily the same ones apart from the Royal?

Like you said, both licensees used several different designations; but Germany (Mayser) presumably not as many.
"Imperial" vs "Excellent" seems to be the main difference for their top models.

Emerging from my summer slumber, the temperatures are these days of 36-37 Celsius, with a new purchase

Huckel Chevreau size 59, well preserved, except the ribbon which has small spots

The hat is in perfect German tradition, very well done and with quality finishes.
It is a classic of the 60s German hats production

My dating is very empirical, but certainly my friend Steve (owner of a Huckel mine of the same type) will know how to give him an age and something else to complete the information framework

It was sold in Mulheim in the Ruhr, under the Huckel brand on the sweatband there is indicated that it is waterproof.
The dimensions are: open crown at 13 centimeters, ribbon at 4.5 and brim. edged and finished with a seam, they are 6.5 cm. The felt is of medium consistency and suede finished

Meanwhile, settle for this, as soon as it is a little cooler you will have the contents of the two boxes coming from the Netherlands, now it's too hot. Be patient

Being a stingy, I also got it for a bargain price! The hat is in good shape but needs a good wash, block, and brush to get it to really shine.

Another great straw find, Randy. Mayser seem to keep coming up with new Panamas. That one is in the same family as my two.
