I bought this out of curiosity. A curled-brim black Open Road? Or was it altered?
Bowen says that, since the numbers on the inside of the sweatband and the tag match, it's a real OR. Hoopdeedoo!

It isn't really a Homburg. More like someone curled an OR brim.
Very cool!!!...and that hat didn’t stay there long at all...
Presenting “the Whiskey, Neat” (though I’ll probably rename it).
I couldn’t help it. It called to me like the One ring...
And I couldn’t be happier with it. My irresponsibility is being tempered by selling a good couple of hands full of other hats and pipes in my collection, and I think it’s well worth it.
I’m hoping this will satisfy my decade(s) long itch for the Russell Crowe 3:10 hat and the Depp Dead Man hat, combined, with enough difference to spin it my own (Greeley’s own) direction.
“Buckskin” basically sand colored pure western weight beaver. 2 1/4” brim. From the shelves of Greeley Hat Works:

Picked this old boater up today while out at a fleamarket in England. It's seen better days, but for £5 I couldn't say no. Needs a clean up and a new ribbon. Anyone know where I can buy a vintage ribbon?
I think there's some age to this one. 1920s if not before. I'm trying to do some research on M. Macintosh of Birmingham. No luck so far.

That will look great! The perfect band for that hat!
Thanks Georg. Boaters are not to everyone's taste, but being English I just couldn't resist this one [emoji4]. Not sure it will ever get worn outside the house. It's a welcome addition to the collection though.Congrats ... not bad for only 5 Pounds.
Straw Boaters are one of the hat styles I don't care for much;
actually kind of strange ... cause I do love felt felt Pork Pies
I've seen vintage ribbons in eBay and Etsy, Steve.Picked this old boater up today while out at a fleamarket in England. It's seen better days, but for £5 I couldn't say no. Needs a clean up and a new ribbon. Anyone know where I can buy a vintage ribbon?

Looks similar to the Highwayman when I sub a 13/16" ribbon instead of the OR style. And the Highwayman has a bound edge. I have this black one on the way for delivery later this wk.
