Post New Hats Here!

[bowlerman]

Love it!! Was it custom made, didn't recognize the brand when you posted originally? Nice cap too.

Thanks! I just found it on eBay for a reasonable price. Used, but immaculate. I don’t get the impression it’s of any exciting vintage, but the company that made it is Czech.

Royal De Luxe Stetson Vogue - late 1940's/earl 1950's. Looks like an Open Road with a wide ribbon. I think it was meant to be worn with the brim as shown in the top photo.

That's great to see Roger! Glad to know my former "neighbor" has a good home.

Isn't that cool? Small world

Wowza!

Beautiful, I love the open road style hats, and particularly Resistols.

Agreed.

Haven’t had much to contribute in this thread for quite awhile, but I acquired two hats this week. First, a grey Hanna Hats cap that I know will get a lot of wear, and second, a sweet little dressage topper.
The Johnny Depp Dead Man hat is one I’ve coveted for many years, and I finally realized its basically just an equestrian show hat. This one is in a beautiful dark navy with what I think is the “Melusine “ brushed finish. I’m happy about these!

You look great in that hat. Very nice.

Vogue has character. Love that crease and it looks great either way.

Good get, Scott! I think the only other Vogues on here belong to Eric (@Short Balding Guy) and Robert (@40Cal).

Very nice DD! I like that a lot. MS in a Cattleman crease works great!

[DesertDan]

Such a great color!
Congrats!

Thanks Hurricane, still a little tweaking to do, but nice to work with.

My Agnoulita arrived today.

My first impressions on opening the box were:
1: it's smaller than I was expecting
2. It's a lighter in color than the photos depicted

It's always a bummer when the initial reaction is one of let down.

The brim is a little wonky, but I'm sure I can work out those wrinkles. The felt is surprisingly soft and very pliable. The felt is far superior to the D'aquino I just took delivery of. The ribbon and bow are quite nice. The liner is fine too. Now the sweat; it is shockingly nice. I love how soft and supple this goatskin sweat is. I wish more hats used this quality of sweat. I should back up and also note that the box it shipped in was very nice and reminiscent of days long gone. Strangely, there are no markings on the sweat and no size label either. The hat does seem to fit true to size or maybe just slightly on the small side.

I guess my only reservations are the color and the proportions. I'll work on the brim later and post shots of me wearing it on the What Hat Are You Wearing Today thread. Maybe it will just take some time to adjust to it. I've gotten used to tall crowned hats.

Side-by-side with my D'aquino for perspective:

The color of the hat in the Etsy listing:

One last dig on the company: my experience is in line with everything else I've heard about Agnoulita: they don't reply to your emails. Expect to pay your money, get ignored, and hope for the best. For what it's worth, I don't see myself ordering from them again.

Very nice! How long did that crease take you?

Thanks dh, I spent about 30 minutes on it so far. Getting some of the cup out of the front and roughing in the crown. Still need about 15 minutes to smooth it out.

I was just admiring Eric's on the other thread. This is another beauty, love this color and that brim look. Very nice Scott.
