The Akubra Cattleman (Sand) came in today. I can already tell I'm gonna love this one. Too bad it came AFTER all the big thunderstorms went through the area lol.

No good lighting today to show off the Sand color, but I'll try again later. Warning: iPhone lens makes brims appear bigger than they actually are.

Absolutely splendid toppers today, everyone. I'm back from warmer climes, but it's just as warm here as it was on the Gulf Coast two days ago. It will be straw hats for the next couple of days.

On this chilly morning from Central Ohio I'm trying on my most recent hat conversion project... This 3x Open Road will soon be another Wanderer conversion...I reblocked this one and gave it a 4 1/2 inches tall C-crown crease. The brim's not as wide as I usually like to wear, (2 1/2 inches), but the taller boxy crown kind of makes up for that...I still have to sew in the sweat and sew on a contrasting medium brown mid-ribbon...notice the fading where the old thin ribbon used to be. I was going to turn the hat inside out but the underside of the brim was faded too...

This is the most close thing I have (not trying to compete with Alan's new tall hat). Sorry about the bad pictures but I don't want to be seen in the street wearing this. I think it is christys wool.

Thanks. Yes I did. Temperature is 30ºC now. Today is a holiday (workers day) and I believe people are hitting the beach on this warm day.
