Keith, that fabric is absolutely out of this world. I can't hazard a guess about the snap situation, but even if it's a goof up, that's money way more well spent than on a carhartt cap.

Pardon some "cap newbie" questions, but all I have are those I got in shops in Ireland, and I see so many other styles here, but don't know where to get them. I see this one has a bill that sticks out more than the ones I own. Is there a name for this style? One thing I don't like about the ones I own is that the bill doesn't come out far enough to keep the sun out of my eyes.

Thanks Al and also to Keith for posting that. Today I'm sporting a new to me early Johnny C heavy wool 8 dart. The cap was a gift from a fellow Lounger. You guys rock!

Next question: how does one find a "heavy wool" cap? As opposed to the ones for sale by say, Hanna Hats? I want a heavier one that will keep me warm in snow country. This one looks like it'd do it.

JohnnyJ and Barry Simonds (see the Merchants section) are our best and most established cap makers, and DamianM is making inroads into the cap making business. There's also a chap in Germany whose moniker I can't remember. And Stuffsmith, but I don't think he sells his caps.
