Thought it might be interesting for Loungers to show what great deals can be had for $200(175 Euros or 150 pounds) or less if one is patient and persistent. Besides showing off, the intent of this thread is to demonstrate to newer participants that one can have fun collecting leather jackets without breaking the bank.

Please include photos if you would like and where you found it, ie online, thrift store, etc. At some point, maybe we can take a vote on the "greatest deal of 2021." FYI-No doubt some members got great deals dropping more than 2 bills on a jacket, but I set the lower threshold of $200 to allow those with smaller budgets to participate.

Let's have fun showing off our deals!:)

Nice idea.
Unfortunately, I do not manage to stay under this amount.
Since my body measurements contradict any standard, I will find in used jackets as good as not. In addition, in the local used market except ugly fashion jackets nothing to get.
What a pity. But I am happy for everyone who has luck here.

I'll kick us off. Black FQHH Aero Bootlegger. Purchased from individual. Was described as "pretty beat up." Cleaned up nicely.

I have considered starting this very thread!! Next we do under $100! There are plenty out there for cheap, the problem is having too many!

Reed Sportswear-$85 shipped and taxed. This has become a go-to-jacket. Lost World Vest not included.

17 under $200 and still counting, year is not over. Too many to post, many sold, others waiting, others just hanging around.

I pass on many jackets under $200; don't have the room to store them. I'm talking about quality jackets not just Flukes. I include Tax and shipping when I calculate the cost.

Anyway, great thread!

Cool stuff so far! I have 3 that qualify: one is a Custom Coat Co. Bomber (a generous gift from ton312), the second is a heavy big-boy TRD Leather cross zip that I bought from AeroFan_07 for $120 + shipping, and the third is a custom jacket by Ocean Drive Leather (Vancouver) that I snagged in a consignment store for $175 (I really should take a much better pic of that one). Here are pics from my media albums:

That Walther is so nice... How long did it take to remove all the top coat? Or treated? Ton, what do you think?

I bought it like that so I don't know. I can't quite figure out what happened to this jacket but I believe the leather was originally brown & then hand-dyed, possibly at Walter Dyer's shop, since all the parts of the jacket that are hidden from the elements remained jet black. The jacket also has a faint shoe shine smell which I love. It's pretty much my Grail piece.

My best— Cal Roughout was $149. I’ve had a few others. They are gone. Some were amazing jackets, just not on my list except for when I saw the price. A JL CR for example. Cal is always on my radar.

Well it would hard to beat this one, for sure the best vintage jacket I have ever scored, certainly for the insanely low price I paid for it. My wife and I were out last night for dinner at the "Olive Garden" and as usual I requested to stop at a local thrift store I check out whenever we are in that area. I go in and have a look at the leather jackets that they get in and normally it is pretty standard new cheap leather jackets made in China or some such thing although years ago I got a get like new BUTWIN "Hero Jacket", grey wool body with black steerhide leather sleeves. Last night I found a great leather jacket by a maker I was totally unfamiliar with called the " Genuine American Leather Sportswear/ American Sportwear Co, Brigham City, Utah. Below that on the label is "Imported Goatskin". After I looked it over I found it was in very nice condition, the leather has great patina and is smooth and soft and well broken in. All the zippers [2 on the chest [both have chain zipper pulls] and the main front zipper [Talon] all work perfectly and the pockets have no holes in them. All the buttons [1 on each sleeve and 2 on the back along the waist line are present as well] The lining [A rust colored diamond pattern' appears to be original with the label tag, there are some areas of wear around where say a belt buckle would be. It is a "Large" size wise [It's what is on the price tag from the store]............... it fits me but I can find no label on the jacket itself to actually indicate the size. No bad smells, just that of the leather itself. Ready for the price? $15.99 I'll be posting some photos here tomorrow as my wife and I are going out tonight for the Christmas parade here in town.
