This is an interesting picture of the Flatiron Building in NYC at 23rd & Broadway when it was the location of a recruiting station. There is a gun turret mounted on the building with the words "Your Country Needs You" painted on the sides of the turret.
It was taken by G.G. Bain in April 1917.

Interesting how public opinion changed so quickly. Just a year prior, Wilson's slogan was "he kept us out of war".
