Yes - looking for the diamonds in the rough. Size 48 suits (50" chest), 42-44" pants.

Anybody have anything?

Also will consider any neat geometric, art deco ties, alongside any 7 5/8 reasonably-priced hats.

Cheers.

Unfortunately I cannot help (I'm size 37!!) but I can give you some directions.

You will not likely find any original garment in that size, garments from that era which exceed a size 42-43 are really rare and the few that remain are usually oddly shaped bespoke made, so unlikely to come with the right trousers' size or lenght.

There might be some in the hands of the most famous dealers (Benny Reese comes first to my mind) but you need a lot of luck and be willing to compromise on design and style.

A more viable option could be to have a reproduction done. There is SJC (Simon James Cathcart), a company that specilises in very accurate period reproductions. If you like what they do and you are fine with the price point this is most certainly the best option. However they operate on a low-stock made to order and I'm not sure they do your size.

Another option is to go MTM with some tailor. It all depends on how much you want to spend; you can find even inexpensive Asian made MTM garments that are period styled. Quality will not be paramount but if you provide your own fabric and you can tolerate machine stitching they can be good for the price.
I can suggest Genius Tailor from Bangkok and Kathmandu for that. They can do a CMT 2-piece suit for 150 $, half canvassed, full custom. You need to be very specific about what you want but they will make anything. If you are interested I can get you in touch with the owner.

I used to be "Mountain Man" and I got an email notification that you sent me a message - I lost my password and could not recover it somehow, so just opened a new account. Can you please direct your message to teethadore? Thanks!
