A couple of years ago I went to W&W when on a trip to New York. I was surprised--hip styles, very nice premises, light and breezy, on an upper floor. I found a style I liked, too bad I didn't have money to spend at the time. I had the feeling that it was a hip New York place. Plan to buy that hat there in 2013, or order a beaver custom of that same model.

I seem to be in the minority regarding W&W. I like the guys that work there, but on my one visit, I found nothing of interest to me. They seemed to be catering largely to the stingy-brim hipsters, and those hats that were more traditional seemed -- and I'm loath to say it -- kind of cheap. They just didn't seem like substantial hats to me.

Include me in that minority. I don't find their stock interesting and they replaced a sweatband for me and installed it backwards.

Any fedora I purchase is either vintage or custom through hatters at the Lounge.

I'd love to support brick and mortar shops but not with the crap they offer.

Oh, well. I liked their Treviso model (I think that's the right name). Couldn't take it off; really wished I had the money at the time. A small-medium sized shop, limited models, but they really sold me on the Treviso. I'm sure they have to focus on what the public is buying, so if it's hipster hats, that must be it. They'll do custom. So they are in my plans, a custom beaver Treviso model in dove gray. That's my hope. Their Treviso in cognac color was dynamite. Speaking for myself, at least.
