World wide harvest festivals

All the non American Loungers have recently had to live through the annual orgy of Thanksgiving postings from here in the US. Tho there are many other aspects to this holiday, it really grew out of similar European harvest festivals. Do any Loungers in other countries have similar harvest festivals to ours, that take on other guises, and have other interesting traditions?

Harvest Festival in the UK is straight after the Harvest has been gathered in and a church service is held to give thanks for the (hopefully) successful harvest.

Below is a Harvest Festvial we held at a WW2 re-enactment event based on 'Dig for Victory'
