Only now is he receiving his scholarly due: “Signs of Life,” a major survey of about 85 of his works, with a 200-page catalog, opens on Saturday at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta.

I vaguely remember the Witkin and Greenberg Galleries (NYC) pushing him hard back in the 80's. Nothing much ever came of it. It'd be nice to see him catch on.

During the great depression and dust bowl times the FSA through the government hired Stryker who sent out a ton of photographers to document what was happening and what farmers needed the most help.
