Who should make the M442A jackets for John Woo's Flying Tigers movie?

So, this movie is in development. I am not holding my breath... However, it would be another great opp to see some ww2 jackets get some screen time. So who would win the contract if you had the say?
Also, Mr Chennault (Liam Neeson?) will need an A-2. If its not Mr Chapmans Acme 16160, should we boycott the film.... ;)

What I do want to know, is what A-2 contracts were seen among the AVG? Anyone have an idea?

Liam Neesan? Why can't they pick people that look similar to the character they portray?

General Claire Chennault wore an Aero 16160. Most wore M422s. Some older Aero and Werber A2s were still being used at this time and the RW 16159 jacket was issued at the same time as the Aero 16160.

Very few AVG volunteers wore A-2s. The only donated flying clothing came from the US Navy so most wore M422 variations. One or two brought their own A-2s to China but there were more civilian jackets used by the group than A-2s.

Cool, I figured there'd be Aero, Roughwears and Werbers around somewhere.
Magnum for Cheannault, I would pay the entry fee just hear Selleck try a French accent.

It couldn't be any worse than Michael Crawfords American accent in the War Lover

Chennault was born in Texas and raised in Louisiana; Chennault was of French ancestry but not a Cajun. I don't think Tom would need to worry about a French accent.

If cast, Selleck would have portrayed both Chennault and Ike.

Cheers,
Mac

Probably doesn't matter anyway. Probably be in Chinese with English subtitles ;-) Or else, just lots of lots explosions, slow-mos and Woo-noise....

Bill Kelso would gladly make the jackets for the movie.
When did you hear there is such a movie coming?
We see nothing about it on imdb.com

If anyone has connections with the movie industry and can recommend Bill Kelso when the time comes, we would be grateful.

All the best,
AF

Good Wear all the way IMHO - if the Monarch M-442 is anything to go by...
There is part of me that says an American company should make 100% of the jackets for a movie on American soldiers. Just like a Brit company would make Irvins, etc. Nothing personal, but...

It is hard for me to accept that a guy born in Texas, (Commerce, Texas), and raised in Louisiana, (Gilbert, LA, and Waterproof, LA) could have a French accent, especially since he pronounced his last name Shen-nalt, not Shen-no as the French would say it. But perhaps I am wrong.

Are there any clips of him speaking, if so please provide a link to this clip.

Your wish is my command! At the 39 minute mark you can hear him. No Cajun accent, just Louisianian!
