There's a subtle difference between the two, but noticeable if you know what you're looking for:
And here's a real-world example:
Nothing wrong with that. As you know, many of us here prefer the imperfections associated with a hand-creased crown--they give our hats character and make them uniquely ours.Turns out, they are a little of both, as I am not extraordinarily symmetrical.

Love the color.Vtg. Penny's Marathon (minty/sage green).

I gotta say, I'm really not liking those hats with the jesus cross in the middle of the diamond crease. What is up with that???
In LOVE with this one!!!!! and the Campaign Bow....WOW!!!!!!!! IF it is a 7 1/2 and it ever wants to run away from home..........Don't know if any Cattleman Creases have been represented yet, so here's my contribution to the Hat creases thread.

One of these days I need to try an OR with the brim slightly up like this.Don't know if any Cattleman Creases have been represented yet, so here's my contribution to the Hat creases thread.
Very "Marlowe in The Big Sleep" or "Sam Spade in The Maltese Falcon."I also did some work on the crease of the Navy Gannon while sitting at our display table. I refined the front pinch and the tall front crease of the diamond. Love this Gannon, it will be put in the rotation this winter. Not just a special occasion hat anymore.
