What goes with these? Sofft ankle boots

This might not be all that vintage, but I thought I'd ask your opinion.

I just bought these cute ankle boots, but I'm not sure if I should wear them with a skirt or stick to slacks with them.

Regular price is over $100, I got them for $40 at Marden's, too good a deal to resist, and SO comfy.

They are such a simple design and go so smoothly from the ankle to the foot that I think you could wear them with any fall or winter clothes. Well done.
