Hi All,

I’ve happened across what appears to be a vintage western style hat. Based on what I have found so far it’s probably from the late 50’s to early 60’s. The brand is Marathon and the style appears to be Rancher. On the inside band, it says “Beaver one Hundred Rancher” and “Made especially for Pete J Scherber” Size is 7 1/8. I’m wondering if anyone can tell me more about this hat and the best way/place to sell it.

I have some pictures uploaded on another website. I’ll try to post them here as well.

If the ribbon knot is truly on the right side of the crown, then Pete had a woman's hat made for him.
I did not know Marathons came in that high of grade.
Most "one hundred" models were priced at $100 & pure beaver fur felt.
This looks like a nice one despite the band.
Best way/place to sell is eBay IMHO.

Welcome & good luck.
