I found a prop document and prop set that has a couple versions of telegram blank and the fonts as well awhile back. They're fun - came in handy to do some lobby decor with in-jokes at the theater, along with newspapers. Two of my underlings and I wore Fedroras with press passes as well

You can still send a telegram to overseas servicemen, through the US Army MARS system. It's called a MARSGRAM http://www.qsl.net/aga6la/marsgram.html

The difference is that the service member will be called if available by phone, if not, the message will be written and delivered to the recipient

The WU blank should properly be printed on newsprint, not yellow stock, and the length should be cropped to about 6 inches. That would be pretty accurate. I won't go so far as to recommend typing it on a mill with a a purple ribbon!
