You cant hardly beat a PanamaBob panama hat, if you are looking for a summer straw. But I have never been on a mediterranean cruise, so I cant say what would be best.

I would wear a straw for a cruise in the Mediterranean. You can't go wrong with a nice Panama and a linen suit.
