On image 6, in the centre there is a dress boot all alone on the shelf. It appears to have a spade sole, suggesting some of the stock was already rather old when the shop closed down.

I have just noticed this caption on image 24 in Gallery 2: "Probably one of the few remaining pairs that would fit an adult males foot today. Think it was an 11"

So there can't be many large sizes in there. Might be some good stuff for those with smaller feet.

This is the kind of stuff you dream about in collecting. They should really do a sale here or on eBay. I just love the boxes love the vintage graphic design of them.

I noticed from the caption on one of the photos on the second gallery that they had already sold a couple of hundred pairs (to a "production company") before these photos were taken. I assume that is where all the larger sizes have gone to.

Since there seems to be vast numbers of shoes in original boxes that are probably way too small to find buyers (lots of size 3 and 4 seemed to be on the shelves) I hope they will donate some to a footwear museum.

There were very few larger sizes to start with. A lot of 3-6 size shoes. Also, sadly, the room with all the shoes was bone dry. So many look to be dry and as brittle as a 17th century skeleton. The humidity level of the location is huge. More than likely, the movie production company purchased the shoes in order to copy the style, rather than to actually have anyone wear the shoes. Wish a shoe lover could go thru and take proper pics.

I agree entirely. There are late 20s/30s shoes there everywhere I suspect.

just remove the toes and the fit is perfect!
