Great deal on a “beater” Pilgrim Open Road or Stratoliner style fedora = "100% Selected Fur Felt." This hat has some mothing issues (which I knew when I bid on it) and planned to use it as a beater. But I relied on the seller’s 23” measurement, which of course was not accurate. I am not the best at measuring circumference either (not enough hands), but I turned the sweat out and it measures about 22” around. The brim is about 2-3/4” wide and the open crown is about 5” tall. The sweat and liner are in good shape, and the hat is pretty solid, but does have mothing on the crown and brim (not too noticeable until you get close). The hat is more of a tan color than the photos show (I only have my camera phone with me at my current location) – the ribbon and edge binding are a slightly darker tan with an olive tone. It is really a sharp looking vintage hat, in spite of the moth damage, and if it fit I would keep it. I am asking only what I paid for it and shipping - $30.00 shipped in the U.S. If you are interested, send me a PM or email me thru PayPal.

Here is more detailed information on the moth damage:

Most of it is on the top of the crown, so that would not be visible when creased - it is there but not horrible - about three divots and some tracks that really just look like light spots on the felt. On the sides of the crown there is a divot above the bow, and two more under the ribbon (mostly covered by the bow/ribbon). On the top of the brim there a divot at the front right next to the ribbon on the right, another spot with three small divots toward the back next to ribbon (harder to see), and one on the right rear next to ribbon edge - not too deep, but wider (also hard to see). There is also some light tracking on the top of the brim, but again it just looks like light spots on the felt. All the "tracking" is what I assume is light moth damage - hard to tell for sure. The bottom of the brim only has one spot on the right that I can see.

I will probably put this back on ebay tomorrow.
