Bonjour,
I just bought a buzz rickson L2-a (new) and i was surprised.
I was under the impression that this jacket was made exactly like the one from 1950. But the shoulder patch (USAF) is a decal and according to the washing instructions it will not survive a professional wash.
When i look at vintage jacket the shoulder patch is faded and does not look like a decal. I think that they used to do a silk screen process?
Although the jacket is everything that people say it is (quality, authenticity) i am rather disappointed by the lack of accuracy on the shoulder patch. After all it is an very expensive jacket from a company that pride itself in the authenticity of its collection. It also made me having second thoughts about buying another jacket from that brand (B15C).
Do you know any manufacturer that actually have a painted original patch on the sleeve?
Is there a way to deteriorate or aged purposely a decal patch?
Thank you,
