My husband is called Paul, and I can think of at least four other Pauls I know. Seems to be very popular still.

I went to school with one . That's the only one I can think of under 50 [huh]
Sorry to stir up such debate . I actually didn't even think of Paul McCartney either :eusa_doh:
... on that note, what about Elvis?
I've noticed a gradual trend toward bestowing upon pets what we used to think of (maybe?) as exclusively human names.
My cats have people names. Earl and Randy.
^^Dolores is still around, but among Spanish-speaking people.
My second middle name is Cecil, in honour of my Grand Dad
Lola!!!
I don't know any Lolas, but it seemed like a pretty popular-ish name back in the day.
I named my dog Lola because when I got her Bombshell (1933) was my favourite movie
Millicent, I have not heard or seen it used since looking through my fathers Year book (1944)
