Vintage Dobbs Trilby

Can anyone shed some light about this hat? What year?

I don't know much about hats, but I would assume it's from the late 50s, or the early 60s. I don't actually think that's a trilby. I believe that type of hat is known as a stingy brim fedora. It has a rather fat ribbon, which I could be wrong, but I believe were very popular in the late 50s, and early 60s.

vmt. Go check out www.thehattedprofessor.com. Run by FL member, it has Dobbs dating tips. From that, I read the red crest as early 1960s, along with the gold embossed sweatband debossments. The brown, rather than black, sweat makes me guess early in the decade, though.
