vintage birthday present help for an artist

Hey all, I need a bit of help and I figured this was the best place to ask. My boyfriend's birthday is comming up, he is a currently enrolled in a university and is seeking a graphic design major and creative writing minor. I was thinking about getting him something vintage for his birthday....Im just not sure what exactly.

I was looking at maybe a nice pen set for his writing...but he does most of that on the computer. Maybe some kind of vintage/antique art supplies or tools.....but im not sure what exactly.

He is a big fan of military type things so maybe ill just try and find a nice old overcoat for him on ebay.

Anyone have any ideas? I would greatly appreciate it.

You can get him a nice fountain pen as he is artistic and writes. A nice vintage pen, ready to go will run $25 on up and new ones for $40 on up for a good one.

Well, if he's a vintage fan, scour some vintage shops - lots have military items like pins, buttons, clothing... you may find something that catches your eye and will seem right for him. Vintage art books maybe?
