Vintage 50’s TAUBERS OF CALIFORNIA Horsehide Car Coat Gangster Jacket

I just purchased this Taubers from eBay and decide to sell it. The fit is spot on for me at 5-8 short legs 180 lbs. I am just not into the style on me. I think it's my short legs make the jacket look longer on my frame. The horsehide is med weight much like the Taubers lace-up shirt/jacket I own not the heavy horsehide of my Taubers police patrolman jacket. The hide is in excellent condition with brown starting to show through and nice graining developing

Agreed. It IS a nice jacket. I'm always looking for Taubers jackets. I think I have an unlabeled one..... They are one of the SF historic makers. This is a totally different style than their more MC jackets. That label is really clean and clear looking too. Its a nice specimen. I wonder if @tmitchell59 is thinking about this one

That is a nice jacket. That's exactly the way it should fit. I am also 5'8 same frame as you. My tailor always shortens the bottom on my cashmere long coats for a dressier look. However, I have such leather coat at my place in Bulgaria. I never step out without them. Lifesaver if you ask me.

Bulgaria is a great country full of beauty and culture. Eastern Europe is a gem. Most tourist do not really know how to truly explore this cultured rich area of the world. I saved a little and was able to purchase a nice flat in a winter resort. Great food and great place to step in to a world that is escaping from all of us.

I believe this to be veg tanned based on the brown color under the black dye and on non dyed side of the horsehide
