I just won the linked hat and I couldn't be happier about it. I know nothing about the brand. Have very rarely worn the style. Don't even know if it'll Goofus or Galant on me. But I am very, very pleased.

The hat that you bought is from the early 1970's . the hat was made in Atlanta GA by the Goodwear Hat Co. They would eventualy be bought out by Bollman Hats.

I had one by them come with my stetson playboy. It was a '70s velour with wide brim. I wasn't very impressed by it. The felt wasn't bad (it wasn't great, but there was nothing wrong with it) , but the trimming was sloppy. The ribbon was sewn on too high, so that there was a gap between the bottom of the ribbon and the bottom of the crown.

But then again, every hat is different, mine could have just been a fluke.

I like the styling of yours, and especially for that big a size, I think you did well.

Homburgs can take a bit of getting used to, and they don't look right with some things which you may be able pull a fedora off with. Give it a chance, and if it doesn't look the way you think it should at first, give it a bit of time.

Mr. Lucky, Congratulations on your win. Homburgs are a lot of fun. The nice thing about this one is that, since the edge is not bound, the front brim can be turned down, more easily. It's like getting two hats in one! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap
