I'm writing a research paper on vaudeville acting, especially about the sort of conventions. Can anyone point me in the direction of a site, book, or troupe that may be able to tell me about conventions in vaudeville acting?

The only thing I can come up with is a book I read called Minsky's Burlesque, here's the amazon link (http://www.amazon.com/Minskys-burlesque-Morton-Minsky/dp/0877957436,) although I found it at the library. It does break down a lot of the comics' deliveries and scripts. Burlesque came from Vaudeville, so there was a bit of history... Also, you are on MySpace, right? There a lot of Vaudeville pages there, and also try looking up the old performers like Abbot & Costello, Ted Heally... I am sure onceyou find one thing the rest will follow!

Yeah- I was thinking of calling up one of the burlesque or vaudeville groups for an interview.
I've already got two great books- American Vaudeville As Seen By Its Contemporaries and The Physical Comedy Handbook.
