Vanson Mercury comp weight fit

Hi loungers,

I recently purchased my first comp weight Vanson, a Mercury jacket. It's a jacket that's not talked about that much on the lounge, so I thought I would show it off a bit.

This is a size 42 jacket and I am about 5'11 (180cm) tall and muscular. I would say this jacket feels on the snug side (but not uncomfortable), probably due to the leather rigidity. It's also shorter than most of my other leather jackets and hits right about my belt line. It's very tapered in the bottom as well.

What do you folks think about the fit? Should I exchange for a size up? Will Vanson comp weight stretch and get softer over time?

Looks 10/10 spot on to me, but it really depends on how it feels on you and whether you want to do any kind of layering.
"feels on the snug side (but not uncomfortable)" is the ideal most of us usually strive for, but this specific model does NOT have any mobility features on the back or armpits, so you need to be a bit more careful with that.

Looks good, but it’s a short jacket, so the visible thermo shirt is not very flattering, IMO. I would either tuck or wear with a shorter shirt/sweater.

Looks nice - does it partially cover your belt?
How many fit check requests have we seen with the shirt tail untucked? It must be hundreds by now. There should be a sticky somewhere: "If you want real advice about the fit of your jacket, tuck in your shirt for the photos." (Not that anyone reads stickies...)

You are asking too much from folk. Sure the material provided is not ideal but zipped photos from the front, back and side is pretty damn good. Usually it's a fking bathroom selfie with the jacket unzipped.

I think we should also have the Fit Check thread as a sticky, and then we wouldn't get a new fit thread every time a new person buys a jacket.

It is hard and sometimes impossible to judge jacket length with the shirt tail untucked. Even with it tucked in, it can be hard to gauge depending on trouser style.

But as you say, these photos aren't bad.

Newbie question to the experienced folk here - but what are the specific / major differences between the Vanson Mercury and the Vanson Oxford (other than the buckle on the back panel on the Oxford) ? There is a price difference of a 100 USD or so between the two with the Oxford being more expensive.

Don't own an oxford yet but my understanding is Oxford is longer and has polyester insulation
