Excellent! I like very much. One of the Pittsburgh/Ohio guys has a Jeep with the BIGGEST fire extinguisher I've ever seen mounted on the front bumper. Is that a decon unit on the right fender?

All you need now is a "Follow Me" sign...

Wait for it. Don't scroll down yet

Hold, wait for the wife and kids to leave the room.

Hold, call your buddies over.

Ok you can look now.

There is a picture in a book my friend has of the original on a base in England.

Slice and Dice

Back in the late 80s, we were doing an air show at an Air Force base, the follow me driver must have only dealt with jets and not tail draggers, he was straight down the middle of the taxi way. Finally had to call ground and tell them to tell the driver either right or left unless he wants to see what a Vegamatic will do to his little truck! They laughed and he quickly pulled to the right!

The sign's in work Matt, I am working on a lighted sign. Yup Steerman I've seen it too! That's one thing our fellows and ME have to remember as I worked T.A and did mostly jets too!

I am glad to see some of the Living History groups doing ground crew displays! When I was flying, it was almost all 8th Air Force air crews, and mainly pilots! I have a soft spot, since my dad was both air crew and ground crew, Dope & Fabric.

That's why I started this. I have been fixing airplanes for 26 years and every time I went to an airshow all I saw was "hundreds" of aircrews. I asked one day where the ground crews were and all I got was a blank stare. Yup, that deciced it for me, heck now everybody says we are "the biggest ground crew display they have ever seen".

Scott,

Here is Pat's (Airmen's Preservation Society) Follow Me at the 2008 Geneseo, NY, show. Perfect shot - you wouldn't know it wasn't 1944 England.

That was a good show until the rains came in on Sunday! I even got a ride in the L-bird that show. It was great having you guys with us. Will you be coming out to Genseo this year?

Hard to say about Geneseo at this time. I suspect we may go play at Lost Nation airshow in Willoughby, OH.

Capital Wing is working with the Polish guys to do 15th AF in Italy. That's what we did last year. Chris Petronas's group. We have differences of opinion but it's good fun to get a lot of guys together to do AAF in one spot.

Hopefully we can set up a "centralized" Location such as Texas that all the AAF groups can come to and have a full base and such. (Lubbock?);)

That would be so awesome. Except that America is such a big country! Myself I'm over 1500 miles from Texas (that's just the Eastern edge) I won't even guess how far the Connecticut Wing is.

The units that I know of are:

Pittsburgh/Ohio Wing, APS
Connecticut Wing, APS
Capital Wing, APS
Georgia/South Carolina Wing, APS
Polish/15th AF (about same location as Capital Wing)
Dover Wing (Johnny Z can we call you a wing or are you just a Squadron?)
Your unit out there in Phoenix

Who else is out there in the AAF?

You said it not me. I was trying to be polite. BTW we have a new member to Capital Wing that is actually in the Dover area. CAP member of the Dover Composite Squadron.
