Unknown Black Halfbelt Leather Jacket - Help Identifying the maker

Hello all,

I recently purchased this half belt leather jacket, and sadly the liner has been taken out. I've been searching the lounge and other resources to try and pin down a maker based on the pattern, but I've had no luck so far. The closest I got was the corduroy collar lining, which is not very conclusive. If anyone is an expert or can help with this, I would be greatly appreciative!

Also, I've attached an image of the back of the jacket as I noticed an odd gradient in the leather. Does anybody know why this is?

Thank you!

The zipper code is; August, 1939. The sleeve and side French seems are often seen on Roughwear jackets and it seems on Fried Osterman jackets.

It appears to be black? The reflection on the leather makes it difficult for me to say what type of leather. Does the jacket have a "shiny" cast without the light off? Is the leather soft? Stiff? The sewn on corduroy collar lining does not look like Roughwear. Various makers used this sewn in collar.

Looks to be in decent condition?

Thanks for responding. It is indeed a black jacket. The jacket is shiny whenever there is a light source, but when in the dark its practically pitch black. I would definitely say the leather is stiff, wouldn't call it soft. Condition is pretty good for what I was able to tell, only split stitching under an armpit on the back that I would need to get repaired.

Hope these additional images help. One is with a flash and without a flash in a dark room.

Thanks for the pics. I was trying to determine the leather. I have Goatskin jackets that give off the shiney look and they are often "stiff", not dried out just not as pliable as other leather.

Finding a black half-belt is good. You have a nice one, needs a lining.

Thanks for posting, always nice to see an old jacket.
