Here we go again..' Supposed to be short '. Hell it would be 2" above my belt. Wouldn't that look cool.
Only if you are shirtless under the jacket.

Flight jackets, cross-zips...
I will never understand why people are into the whole 'vintage' style and 'quality of yesteryear' kind of nostalgia thing, but then totally reject (accurate) period fits.
It's as if high-waist pants have been white-washed out of history!
I think the OP's jacket looks great.
@ProteinNerd
I'm just saying that I don't understand why people kind of do this;
"I really love the clothes of that era. The styles were so classic, so iconic. Except for the fit."
People are absolutely free to wear whatever they like. But complaining of the vintage fit of vintage clothes is just stupidity. The fit is an integral part of the whole I think.
Don't feel sorry for PN, he's doing just fine! He and I may not agree when I comes to skinny jeans and low rise heights, but I hold him in high esteem and I think everyone else around here does as well.I feel sorry for PN, what's wrong with speaking different opinions?
Ok, I may be wrong but Hoosier D is a tall guy and it probably would take additional length to placate his needs. But for me the Trojan works great for 2 reasons. One, I am average height so length is great. Second, it doesn't have that damn beaver tail on it which I prefer when riding (I know there's lot's of reasons for having them but I have one jacket that has it and frankly I hate it). I posted a couple of shots from a few years back and the shorter length does not push the heavy horsehide up like the J-23 which is nice while riding. Overall I think the Trojan is a well design package but hey that's just me. These color combo with moose hide would probably be very comfortable for wear. Sorry for the silly grin....

This jacket is definitely a keeper if it brings so many reactions
More seriously, thanks everybody for your comments, and it's interesting to hear everybody's opinion
Regarding length, I have to admit that when I first got it, it felt short. But after taking the initial fit pics and while posting them, I realised that it actually works really well. At least that's what I think.
It does help that I do not wear low rise jeans anymore, if anybody is curious, I am wearing the Iron Heart 25 ounces on the fit pic. As opposed to jackets, I am happy with only one pair of jeans... actually make it two as a backup is always useful lol
And with these classic fit jeans, this Trojan works. So all in all this jacket is an eye opener for me in many ways and I am very happy with it.
So getting back to this jacket, it weighs about 4kg, not my heaviest one, but very substantial indeed. I have not worn it the whole day while walking yet, but it has been very comfortable so far. The weight just balances itself.
As for the hide, it is not a combination of leaathers, both colours are moose hide, a new type of leather for me. It does kind of feel similar to deer skin.

I mentioned in a different thread my uncle makes handmade moccasins and moc style boots using deer, elk, bison and moose. The bison makes an appearance in the jacket world every now and then. Deer was popular in the 30s and a few do deer once again. But moose is my absolute favorite and I’d love a jacket made it in. Most of the moose I’ve seen is insanely thick and substantial. Yet it’s supple and light for its thickness. It would be great for this style of jacket. Nearly indestructible but relatively light and easy to wear.
Lol feel free to feel sorry for me, if I felt comfortable in shorter jackets I’d still have that AERO x LVC blue black goat that I lusted after for ages, finally got and ended up selling a few months later because I felt it was too short on me..... if I felt comfortable in shorter jackets there would be a hell of a lot more jackets in my want list.
Don’t get me wrong, I think they look great on other people, but when I put them on, I don’t think they look good on me. I think it’s because I’m too used to wearing suit jackets to work, anything shorter just feels weird and I’m not used to seeing them on me.
When I say it’s too short, I don’t mean it in a bad way, I just know I wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing it.....Believe me, I wish I did!
