My Lords, Ladies, and Gentlemen,
I seek an obscure bit of advice. Seeking advice is always made more difficult when it's so specific but in my case I'm afraid it's unavoidable. The rub is this: I am currently making plans to spend the new year holiday with a rather attractive young female friend who lives in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It just so happens that she looks rather stunning in an evening gown so with that in mind it is my intention to attend a celebration at one of the swankier hotels in town, to which I would adore the idea of wearing a tuxedo. Sound's dashing you might say? Well indeed it does. However, my worry is that because of San Juan's location in the more "Dantean" climes I will be a sweaty, stinky mess all night, regardless of how much deodorant or cologne I wear, if I wear a tuxedo.
I Put it to the forum directly: has anyone here ever had occasion to wear a tuxedo in San Juan (or anywhere else like that for that matter) and how did it turn out? Is it do-able at night, after dark? Will it be cool or temperate enough in the dead of their "winter" over the new year holiday? Obviously one makes the concessions one has to make in the greater interests of "haute-couture" but I would prefer not to dress up at the expense of smelling like a french prison, or ruining my new tuxedo with sweat stains for that matter...
Thank you all most graciously for any advice you can provide,
Vice Commodore, C.G.B.
