Try This Refreshing Drink

Newport Bitter, aka Gimletonic
(so called because I concocted it one hot night in Newport, RI, when fresh limes were unavailable)

Vodka, well chilled
Tonic water
ReaLime*or your favorite unsweetened lime juice

Mix as your favorite vodkatonic in a tumbler or highball glass over rocks.
Add ReaLime until drink is cloudy and mix in.

The finished drink should have a taste reminiscent of Bitter Lemon mixer, only limey instead of lemony.

sounds good. I love citrus-y drinks in the summer. I usually stick to gin and tonics but the vodka sounds good too

Quencher, 'tis that...been close to 90° all week here, so I've been enjoying it greatly.

I can't stress enough, you need UNsweetened lime juice, and a fair slug of it (as I say, enough to cloud the drink). I had a bar make this with Rose's and it was horribly oversweet.
